ETRS89

The main reference system in Denmark is ETRS89. This system was developed as a Europe-wide standard reference system and handles GPS measurements effectively. In Denmark, the system is based on the GPS reference network REFDK.

Prior to the introduction of ETRS89, System34 was the primary Danish reference system. This system is based on three triangulated reference networks that cover Jutland, Sealand and Bornholm respectively. Now, System34 faces phasing out and eventual archiving.
