Common public geodata (FOT)

The Danish Geodata Agency produces and maintains geographical data in cooperation with the Danish municipalities. Central and local government are working jointly for the establishment of a nationwide common geographical data set (FOT) to be used in public administration at all levels. As such, mapping is conducted not only for topographic purposes, but in order to improve efficiency in public administration and e-government services.

The practical provision and maintenance of FOT data take place by means of photogrammetry through tenders. Data are further to be updated through editing services in various sectors of public administration, in order to maintain an up-to-date set of data.

Find out more about the association on FOTdanmark’s website.
